Sara Westhoff, MA, CCC-SLP

Sara is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist serving children from birth through adolescence. She received her BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2014 and her MA in Speech-Language Pathology in 2016 from the University of South Dakota. She began her speech therapy career in the school setting and continues to work part-time in the school setting. During her time in the schools, she has served children from birth through high school age and provided therapy for a variety of speech and language disorders. She specializes in articulation/phonology, receptive/expressive language, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and supporting individuals and families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Sara felt drawn to My Catholic Doctor in order to place God at the center of her life so that she could be a better wife, mother, and speech-language pathologist by providing family-oriented services that address the unique needs of each child and family. She believes in using a natural language acquisition (NLA) approach to therapy, in which therapy is child-led and play-based rather than compliance-based. Therapy is focused on building connection and trust so that children develop speech and language that is meaningful to them.

Sara resides in Iowa with her husband, Travis, and 4 children.
