About Sandy

Sandy Russell is a clinical nutritionist and a certified dietician-nutritionist in CT. She has an M.S. in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, is licensed as a Certified Dietician/Nutritionist (CDN) and passed her Board exam as part of the process of becoming a board-certified Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) through the American Nutrition Association (ANA). Sandy is currently practicing under a supervisor to gain supervised hours for the CNS board certification. She also earned an earlier certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell.

Sandy is passionate about helping adults aspiring to achieve their health and lifestyle objectives. Understanding that many diseases are preventable and possibly reversible, she takes a whole-body functional nutrition approach. Scientific research backs the management of certain conditions with food and lifestyle modifications. Starting with a comprehensive nutritional assessment to determine individual nutritional needs, she partners with her clients to create a personalized nutrition intervention plan which they monitor together on a mutually defined basis. This consultation may provide needed nutrition education and/or target specific health needs, provide personalized dietary and nutritional’s recommendations, lifestyle modifications and/or coaching about lifestyle changes to support greater health and well-being. By addressing small incremental changes in your current lifestyle, we are able to make impactful improvements in your health!

  • Start with a (free) 15-minute strategy call so that you can both get to know one another and to ensure it’s a good fit to work together successfully.
  • Initial consultation to get to know you as a whole person (not just your diet!) by understanding your lifestyle (diet, exercise, sleep, stress, community), health concerns, medical history, and laboratory results. Using an evidence-based approach, she will develop a sustainable lifestyle modification plan and deliver to you during your next consultation visit.
  • Ongoing follow-up visits.
