Rebecca Sweeney, M.D.

Dr. Sweeney was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts. The town put in its first traffic light after she left for college. She returned to Massachusetts to attend medical school at the University of Massachusetts, where she fell in love with pediatrics. She then completed a pediatric residency at the Floating Hospital for Children within Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She is board certified in pediatrics. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

In addition to MyCatholicDoctor, Dr. Sweeney currently works at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA, where she cares for all hospitalized children from late preterm newborns through early adulthood. She also works as a pediatric consultant at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliated hospital in Boston. There she cares for children with complex medical needs. She is humbled to be able to walk with parents as they care for their most precious treasures – their children – especially when they are sick.

Dr. Sweeney and her husband have one daughter, who never stops moving. They currently live in Massachusetts but also travel internationally on medical mission trips. Dr. Sweeney enjoys traveling, hiking, and dancing.
