Dr. Michele Suhie is a national board-certified health & wellness coach and board-certified lifestyle medicine professional, with a doctorate from The Ohio State University. She originally trained as a medical laboratory scientist and earned a master’s degree and doctorate in health education and gerontology. She has taught at the university level for nearly 25 years in the fields of medical technology, geriatric health & wellness, exercise science, and lifestyle medicine. In addition to continuing to teach undergraduate courses to help the next generation of practitioners learn skills to provide whole-person care, she also now works in various roles as a health coach specializing in lifestyle medicine.

Michele’s approach to health and wellness uses a Trinitarian Health Model that fosters growth in body, mind, and spirit, drawing from the fields of lifestyle medicine, positive psychology, and research on religion & health. She coaches individuals seeking to improve their health with behavior change, to achieve weight management and management of blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. By promoting positive lifestyle behaviors while nourishing growth in a faith community, she believes people can truly flourish and live with purpose and meaning.

Her interest in lifestyle medicine, positive psychology, and faith is more than just a calling; it is also central to her life as a breast cancer survivor working to live her life to the fullest and reduce the risk of future recurrence for herself. She also occasionally produces blog articles and podcast episodes that share insights into the intersection of faith and reason, through the integration of lifestyle medicine, positive psychology, and spiritual growth in the Catholic faith. Michele is also a musician and vocalist in her parish community, as well as a Catholic speaker, living in Ohio with her husband and two children.
