Marie practices from the premise that each of us is made in the image and likeness of God, and we are loved by Him unconditionally. She is a cradle and practicing Roman Catholic, and a lifelong learner of our faith. Therapy is a gift. It has helped Marie through different periods of her life. Identifying who God created us to be, where our attachments in life come from, and how we learn to persevere through difficult times to find lasting joy is essential to helping us move through life. We are made in God’s image and likeness; from that premise, we are here to live and breathe in His grace and mercy for our lives. Raised in Arizona and she has lived in North Texas for 18 years. She attended Catholic school run by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a high school taught by Franciscan OFMs in Phoenix, Arizona. Her parents divorced when she was 10. She is currently a single mother of five children, ages 20-12, by widowhood. She was married for 17 years to a Roman Catholic living in a sacramental marriage. Before entering the mental health field, she was a stay-at-home wife/mom in addition to 20 years of experience, contracting part-time as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Marie holds degrees from Divine Mercy University (M.S., Clinical Mental Health Counseling), Boston College (M.Ed., Curriculum and Instruction), and Arizona State University (B.A., Special Education) and is the founder of Spes et Fortitudo Counseling, PLLC, located in Colleyville, Texas.
