Dianna Brozyna, MD

Dr Brozyna attended Creighton Medical School, a Jesuit Medical school in Omaha, Nebraska. She loved all her courses but especially excelled in and had a passion for pediatrics.

Dr Brozyna has been a pediatrician for 22 years. She has spent her entire career caring for well newborns and sick children in the hospital. She also saw children in an outpatient capacity in a free church clinic for 12 years. She did her training in Orlando, Florida, and stayed there as a pediatric hospitalist for 17 years. She moved to Tallahassee, Florida, to be closer to her family, and was hired to open a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in one of the hospitals there. After that, she provided hospital pediatric services at an underserved hospital in a small town in North Carolina, functioning as the Medical Director to hire staff, do the schedule, and create protocols for the pediatricians. She was also hired as a locum (part-time) hospital pediatrician in her hometown of Tallahassee. Dr Brozyna also has an MBA and was Medical Director both in Orlando at the hospital and in the Catholic church clinic.

While seeing newborns, Dr Brozyna performs their first newborn exam, checks them for any jaundice or weight loss, making sure they pass all the newborn screening, such as hearing and cardiac screens. She also helps moms with breastfeeding by evaluating a baby’s suck and latch, and offering helpful tips to help them be more successful.

Dr Brozyna has taken care of thousands of sick children, from minor colds and rashes to children with serious illnesses and diseases. She works with pediatric consultants and offers referrals for these specialists. As part of caring for these children, she orders labs and other studies, and provides prescription medications, as appropriate. Dr Brozyna is an expert in the triage of sick children; figuring out how sick a child is by doing a thorough history and, when necessary, a full exam with labs and radiologic studies to help her with her diagnosis. She also has experience doing well-child checkups for school and sports physicals, as well as performing initial ADHD and autism assessments. She is interested in sports and nutrition and has implemented weight loss programs in her clinic.

Being a physician is Dr Brozyna’s 2nd career; she was a government business manager and even has an MBA with a finance emphasis. She had a calling to go to medical school to help people; this passion has never wavered. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and travelling.
