Bernadette Powell, PA-C

Bernadette is a Physician Assistant with a special interest in providing restorative reproductive care to women of all ages. Inspired by her own medical treatment as a NaPro patient, Bernadette received her training as a NaProTechnology Medical Consultant and Creighton Model System FertilityCare Practitioner through the Saint Paul VI Institute. Meeting with her patients and helping them discover the beauty of their fertility as well as finding the root cause for many couples experiencing infertility is one of her passions. She is honored to serve her patients and accompany them on their journey toward greater health and healing.

Outside of clinical practice, Bernadette is a wife and new mother. She is also a board member of Physician Assistants for Global Health, a network of PA’s organized to advocate and support individual PAs and the use of PAs in underserved areas. In her free time she enjoys running, trying new recipes, and traveling with her little family. Bernadette attended Franciscan University and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish while taking all of her science prerequisites for PA school. She received a Master in Physician Assistant Studies from Yale University.

Natural family planning should be covered pre-deductible and without co-pay in accordance with the Affordable Care Act, equal to birth control coverage, as long as you see a MyCatholicDoctor medical provider that is in network with your insurance and get a referral to a MyCatholicDoctor NFP instructor. Your insurance plan may also require you to obtain a PCP referral. Unfortunately, many insurance carriers inappropriately apply co-pay and deductible for NFP, and inappropriately deny claims.
