Dr. Velazquez is a resident family medicine physician, wife, and a mother of two children. She plans to practice full-spectrum family medicine after completing residency. She has a particular passion for women’s health, which is why she pursued training in FEMM, obtaining certifications in both Medical Management and as a FEMM teacher. At this time, Dr. Velazquez can only see patients for Medical Management through her residency clinic, but she is able to teach FEMM charting to patients in any state on the MyCatholicDoctor platform.
After graduating from the University of Dayton in 2010, Andrea stayed at Dayton, where she completed her Master’s in Education, graduating in 2012. She then embarked on a mission-driven career as a high school biology teacher in the Cristo Rey Network before pivoting to pursue a medical degree in 2020. She graduated from the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2024 and is currently at Franciscan Health completing a family medicine residency. When not at the hospital or traveling with her family, she enjoys speaking to medical students and residents about women’s health topics and the dignity of the human person.

Natural family planning should be covered pre-deductible and without co-pay in accordance with the Affordable Care Act, equal to birth control coverage, as long as you see a MyCatholicDoctor medical provider that is in network with your insurance and get a referral to a MyCatholicDoctor NFP instructor. Your insurance plan may also require you to obtain a PCP referral. Unfortunately, many insurance carriers inappropriately apply co-pay and deductible for NFP, and inappropriately deny claims. MyCatholicDoctor is fighting this at many levels. If you are billed a co-pay or deductible, or your claim is denied, please contact your insurance company.
Self-Pay Discounted Rates are available at this time. Service may be eligible for HSA reimbursement when deemed medically necessary by your PCP
