School telehealth helps schools quickly and effectively manage sick children. As Catholic schools prepare to re-open in the era of COVID-19, MyCatholicDoctor can provide the medical expertise and support that schools need to keep students and faculty safe and prevent the spread of illness.
If your school is already participating, please register your child (opt-in to the program) here.
Our team of faithful healthcare professionals provide comprehensive pediatric examinations and treatment, using state-of-the art equipment, including a virtual care stethoscope to listen to heart and lung sounds, and a video otoscope to look at ears and throat. Our pediatricians can order lab tests at Quest Diagnostics or your lab of choice. We can order x-rays and other imaging studies at your local imaging center or hospital. We prescribe medications to your pharmacy of choice. We can fax a copy of the medical record to the child’s primary care pediatrician.
We include parents in our visits– pulling them into the video consultation on their cell phone or computer, wherever they are. The parents see the child and the whole exam. Then the parent, the school, and the pediatrician have a conversation about how best to manage the sick child. Parents must consent online for each visit.
We are also happy to see faculty and staff.
We enjoy building relationships with schools and families and really getting to know the school community. Families are welcome to use our services outside of school hours, also.
MyCatholicDoctor bills insurance for these visits. Parents will be billed for an in-network office-visit co-pay. Our telehealth platform and telehealth equipment/hardware are provided by the MyCatholicDoctor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Telehealth equipment is considered property of The MyCatholicDoctor Foundation and loaned to schools at no cost.
