After 30 years of traditional primary care internal medicine, Dr. Hanlon is thrilled to integrate lifestyle medicine from the Christian viewpoint into his model of medical care. He recently became board certified in the emerging practice of lifestyle medicine to enhance his longstanding board certification in Internal Medicine. Dr. Hanlon’s current mission is to partner with his patients to promote wellness and treat illness within the building blocks of lifestyle as seen through the lens of the Christian understanding of the person. Traditional medicine therapies will be used as necessary, but the goal of care will be to reverse disease and improve health using the tools of lifestyle medicine. Longer visits may be required initially in order to evaluate a patient’s condition and goals. Dr. Hanlon is currently developing this model using the MERCY (Move, Eat, Rest, Connect, and Yahweh) acronym and a new education website that is forthcoming. The plant-based nutrition website launched in 2015 that he is featured in can be found at plantbasedabc.com. Dr. Hanlon is pleased to welcome any new and previous patients (age 16 or over) who are interested in this model of care for their acute, chronic and preventive medical needs. Born, raised, and educated near the city of Boston, he chose Boston University for medical school and UMASS Medical Center for his Internal Medicine Residency. After central Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire became home in 2001 and he has had the privilege to care for thousands of patients there. He is a husband of over 35 years, a father of 5 grown children, and “Pop” to multiple grand-children. He has enjoyed leading or joining small group studies over the years in various parishes, the last of which was a St. Joseph Consecration study.
