Crystal Hayes, MS, RD

Crystal Hayes is a registered dietitian using nutrition education, food literacy and counseling to empower individuals to make healthy behavior changes for themselves, their families, and their communities. Her patients have told her that they are grateful for her trauma-informed care and whole person approach. She is always looking for opportunities to serve underserved populations, which has led her to do a wide variety of work including research in Lao PDR, creating quality foodservice for veterans, and counseling low income patients in rural Oregon. In any setting, she aims to model whole health and wellness, influence positive change, and commit to personal growth through continuing education. As a special interest, she advocates for rural health priorities, food security, and age-friendly care models.

• Medical nutrition therapy, defined as a nutrition-based treatment provided by a registered dietitian nutritionist which includes a nutrition diagnosis as well as therapeutic and counseling services.
