Trappist Infant Caskets

“Life is full of mystery. One of the greatest and most painful mysteries of all is the death of a child. The monks at New Melleray Abbey offer no easy explanation for so grievous a loss. As an important ministry of the monks of New Melleray Abbey, caskets are offered in compassion and faith at no cost to families who have lost a child. We invite the family in need of a child casket to contact us directly so that we may assist in helping at this difficult time. By providing children’s caskets, the monks’ prayer is that all children will be commended to God’s love and care forever. Each child casket is artisan crafted from premium red oak and comes with a personalized keepsake cross. Every child provided a Trappist Casket is remembered in a Mass said by our monks and, as a living memorial, we plant a red oak seedling in the spring on the Abbey grounds in honor of each child who is buried in one of our caskets.”

Rest in His Arms Angel Gowns

“We are an IRS registered 501c3 non-profit that takes donated wedding dresses and with much volunteer help, converts them into beautiful angel gowns, pouches and sacks that are used as burial garments when a baby does not make it home due to miscarriage, stillbirth or other infant death. Our angel gowns are distributed to hospitals, funeral homes and individual families all across the USA free of charge as our gift of love to help those grieving the loss of a baby. If you have need for one of our gowns, please PM us and we’ll send it right away. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.”

``Your faith spoke for this child. Baptism for this child was only delayed by time. Your faith suffices. The waters of your womb - were they not the waters of life for this child? Look at your tears. Are they not like the waters of baptism? Do not fear this. God’s ability to love is greater than our fears. Surrender everything to God.``

St. Bernard of Clairvaux, writing to a couple who had lost a baby to miscarriage and who worried for their child’s soul because he wasn’t baptized
