Maura Buete, M.D.

Dr. Buete is a board-certified family physician with over 25 years of clinical experience in urgent care, wound care, and general family practice. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from birth to the golden years. Dr. Buete is a graduate of the University of South Florida, where she majored in Biology, as well as the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. After receiving her doctorate, she moved to St Petersburg and completed her residency at Bayfront Hospital. She went on to practice urgent care for 12 years and then switched her area of focus to wound care and hyperbaric medicine and worked as a consulting physician and then Medical Director at Manatee Memorial Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center for 11 years. When COVID hit, she returned to urgent care, where she and her husband offered in-person and telehealth care from 2019 until the present.

Dr. Buete has a passion for spiritual as well as physical wellness. She has been active in her local Catholic community in spreading the truth and beauty of the Church’s teachings by facilitating the study of Church encyclicals and spiritual writings, incorporating Theology of the Body into the Family Life series in Catholic schools, and she has also been on the BOD since the inception of the St Gianna Center for Women’s Health and FertilityCare, which promotes natural family planning and NaProTechnology locally. Dr. Buete is married with 5 children and lives in St. Petersburg, FL.
