Katrina Nguyen, M.D.

Dr. Katrina Nguyen is a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist. Following the completion of her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2002, Dr. Nguyen completed her residency in internal medicine-pediatrics at the University of Missouri in Columbia, followed by her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

She worked at Augusta University in Georgia from August 2009 to May 2013 following completion of her fellowship. After that, she worked at Mercyhealth in Illinois from July 2013 until July 2020, serving patients in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. She is currently a locum tenens physician.

Alongside her clinical role at Mercyhealth, Dr. Nguyen served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford. She is the founder of Faithful-2-Fitness, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic in America. She is a member of the Catholic Medical Association and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
