About Whitney

Whitney is a wife, a boy mom, and an occupational therapist with a passion for maternal health and wellness. She primarily sees women during pregnancy and immediately postpartum (as early as day 2) to provide education, adaptations, and training surrounding their own abilities to shower, toilet, complete dressing tasks and to maximize comfort by exploring various positions and transitions for getting in and out of bed, chairs, and mobilizing within their homes after delivery. Whitney has education and training in pelvic health, maternal wellness, birth trauma recovery, cesarean and hysterectomy recovery, mental health, mother and baby bonding, core strengthening, and scar management. She believes in the importance of being both trauma-informed as well as grief-informed in her everyday practice and emphasizes the importance of mind, body, and soul in an individualized plan of care. Whitney provides education and training virtually and in the home, placing Christ-centered self care and wellness at the forefront, as women navigate their ever changing roles, habits, and routines.

Whitney brings over a decade of experience in adult and pediatric rehab at level 1 trauma centers and has worked in acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, and home settings. Whitney has worked with patient populations to include: orthopedic injuries, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, and various pediatric diagnoses. She can aid in completion of home safety and accessibility evaluations and make recommendations on the installation and use of durable medical equipment to increase access and participation in activities of daily living and self care tasks.

Whitney is board certified by the National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy. She has completed certification as a stroke rehabilitation specialist, is trained as a Haven Bereavement Doula (advocating for families walking through pregnancy loss), and is currently completing her certification as a Perinatal Health Specialist. She is excited to advocate for and contribute to the growing field of Obstetric Rehab. When not serving in these roles, you can find her balancing family sport schedules, reading a historical fiction novel, gardening, or sitting on her front porch with a warm drink.
