About Dr. Bednarczyk

Dr. Bednarczyk began his healthcare career in 1997 as an EMT-B and moved up quickly to become a paramedic. After working for 10 years on an ambulance in areas such as Los Angeles, Vallejo, and Las Vegas; Dr. Bednarczyk joined the United States Army as an HPSP recipient to attend medical school. Dr. Bednarczyk graduated from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012.

Upon graduating Dr. Bednarczyk was assigned to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas where he later established a private practice. While in the military Dr. Bednarczyk saw combat in Afghanistan and was also deployed to various parts of South America. Dr. Bednarczyk’s primary focus at the time was Aerospace Medicine: treating normal physiology in an abnormal environment. This is where Dr. Bednarczyk began to take up an interest in Functional Medicine.

Dr. Bednarczyk believes there is more to our health than the presumed natural progression of getting old and developing disease. Dr. Bednarczyk sees our bodies in a similar light to that of Aerospace Medicine, but with a Functional Medicine approach. Disease is developed by our natural physiology reacting to the rapidly changing environments around us.

The quote, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”, attributed to Hippocrates has never been more true today than ever. With the industrialization of our food products, food dyes, synthetic additives, and hormone disruptors that end up in our water sources there has been a significant decline in our health. This quote reminds us that everything we place into our sacred bodies (1 Cor 6:19-20) can either heal or hurt us.

Dr. Bednarczyk has a love for the time he gets on his small homestead farm in Oklahoma. There he raises grass-fed and grass-finished livestock (sheep and cattle) along with pasture raised fowl (chickens and turkeys). Dr. Bednarczyk has also converted a swimming pool into an aquaponics system in an attempt at creating a self sustaining system for produce. This feat has been challenging and will take many more years to perfect.

Dr. Bednarczyk enjoys time with his children and splits his time between Texas and Oklahoma during the hockey season, Go Stars!!
