About Dr. Ramos

Dr. Ramos is a podiatrist, wife and a mother, thanks to the gift of adoption. She sees patients from birth to 100+ years old. Her practice includes all foot and ankle medical and surgical issues, as well as coaching and guidance on the prevention of future foot and ankle problems. While at a Good Friday retreat, early in her career, she heard a priest talk about Jesus washing the feet of the apostles. This had a significant impact on her. Since then she has understood that she works in a profession of service, where she gets to wash, care and treat everyone’s feet.

A native from Puerto Rico, Dr. Ramos graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a B.S. in Biology in 1990. In 1994, she graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida, where she continued with her surgical residency at Westchester General Hospital.

Dr. Ramos served as a Secretary and Treasurer of the Miami-Dade County Podiatric Medical Association. She is board certified in foot surgery by the ABFAS (American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons) and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Having a strong sense of faith and family has been instrumental in the way she approaches her profession wherever it takes her. She worked in private practice in Coral Gables, Miami, Florida for 12 years, and moved to Houston, TX after tying the knot with her husband, a marathon runner and triathlete. Motivated by him, she started walking longer distances and running. After 8 years in private practice in Houston, Dr. Ramos followed her husband and son to Angola, Africa, where she worked as a volunteer podiatrist with the expat community and with the Friends of Luanda Street Children and Orphans (FOLSCO) for two years. They then moved to California near family, where she is presently working in private practice. While in TX, she volunteered at the San Jose Clinic in Houston, and in CA at the Order of Malta Clinic in Oakland. She has also volunteered in medical missions in Peru www.medicalmissions.clmusa.org and Guatemala www.misionerosdelcamino.org . Dr. Ramos was a recurring guest in a series on podiatry related issues that have aired on the hit Spanish language television shows Primer Impacto and Despierta America. She has enjoyed reaching out to the local community as a speaker at events, specialty shoe stores, Diabetic Groups, and Running Clubs. She was a volunteer podiatrist for the Houston Marathon, which inspired her to sign up, and complete several races and half marathons in TX and in the CA Bay area.
