Margie C. Sweeney, M.D., OFS, CPC, Dipl ABOM

Dr. Sweeney is board certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She is also a certified coach, blending that approach with her treatment of overweight and obesity. Dr. Sweeney sees patients ages 4 and older for weight management and is available for urgent care for those ages 4 and older. Dr. Sweeney takes her faith seriously and is also a professed Secular Franciscan. She has started a new Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Orlando, FL and has received the regional and national awards in JPIC – Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation in 2013, the same award given to St. Teresa of Calcutta in 1974. She is also an author, speaker, and medical missionary. She has offered free medical services at several locations in the U.S. and on medical mission trips to several countries in Africa and in Haiti. She started a nonprofit organization, Helping Hands Healing Ministries, Inc., to serve the poorest of the poor in developing countries. This nonprofit was the inspiration of her first medical mission trip to Central Africa, landing in Nairobi, Kenya on September 11, 2001.
